"THREE
PATHWAYS OF ILLUMINATION: Sound
Healing,
Shamanism & Qigong"
~ An experiential workshop in the integrated healing and
transformative
powers of Sound (& Music), Shamanism and Energy Cultivation
~
The conscious use of sound is one of the most powerful healing
tools in a shaman's repertoire and it is readily accessible
to today's healing practitioners. It is a form of vibrational
medicine that can affirmatively transform our emotional,
mental, physical and energetic states of being, bringing
balance, joy, new awareness and healing.
The
roots of qigong, the Chinese energy cultivation and healing
practice, can be traced back to ancient shamanism. This
may be why it makes for such a perfect compliment to shamanic
healing work, integrates effortlessly with sound healing,
and supports the sort of body/heart/mind/spirit attunement
so essential to any effective healing practice.
We will explore:
~ Healing techniques applicable
to self and others
~ Sound immersion meditations,
participatory and receptive
~ Energy cultivation practices
integrating sound and qi
~ Energy body activation and
cleansing
~ Shamanic sound journeying
for healing and insight
In
this holistic workshop, we weave together three great currents
of healing - Sound, Shamanism and Qigong - attuning to their
interdependent flow within the one great Soul Ocean of self.
We will experience their ability to reduce stress, release
emotions, increase healing energy flow, improve mental clarity
and bring profound personal insight.

Rich
Goodhart is an internationally respected world
music multi-instrumentalist, composer and recording artist
as well as a poet, writer, sound healer, shamanic practitioner
and Qigong/Tai Chi instructor. He has created seven vital
and adventurous CDs, including his latest album of shamanic
healing sound meditations Shaman Mirror Medicine Tree,
(also the title of his new collection of poems, invocations
and spiritual writings.)
Length: Presentable as a weekend, 5-day or 7-day
workshop, or weekly or multiple sessions over an extended
period of time. There is no shortage of material, the
longer the workshop, the more material covered and with
greater depth of development and experience.

Bio:
Rich
Goodhart is an internationally recognized
world music multi-instrumentalist, composer and recording artist
working with world music in non-traditional forms, as well as
a poet, writer, sound healer, shamanic practitioner and Qigong/Tai
Chi instructor. He has composed, produced, arranged and engineered
seven albums of progressive World Music. His latest CD of world
rhythm shamanic journeys and healing sound meditations is titled
Shaman Mirror Medicine Tree, and his third recording,
Never Give A Sword To A Man Who Can't Dance was
hailed as "The ultimate soundtrack to one's most private
ritual dream" by New Age Retailer magazine. World
percussion master Glen Velez has described his music as having
"a true sense of adventure, with plenty of backbone and
vibrant heart". Originally a keyboardist, for the past
30 years he has also been a hand drummer and world music practitioner
and has studied with master musicians of Africa, India, America
and Indonesia. He has performed and collaborated with many highly
regarded musicians, dancers and writers, including Allen Ginsberg,
Jon Anderson of YES, Daevid Allen, Collin Walcott, Deepak Chopra,
Joanne Shenandoah, Bill T. Jones, Nawang Khechog, Steve Gorn,
Shahram Shiva, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Paul Horn, Mark Nauseef, Robert
Gass, Gilli Smyth, Michael Harrison, Russill Paul, Krishna Das,
Shiva Rea, David Newman (Durga Das) and Shyamdas.
His Sound
Healing studies include extensive work and a ten year close
personal association with Divine Healing Sound Master Sarah Benson,
intensive training with sound master Tom Kenyon and additional
studies with Russill Paul, Dabadi Thaayrohyadi, Chloe Goodchild,
Fiona Whitmore, the work of Jonathan Goldman, Don Campbell, John
Beaulieu, Zacciah Blackburn and many others.
In addition Rich is a Qigong and Tai Chi instructor and has
extensive experience with meditation, yoga and esoteric shamanic
practices. For many years he was a regular teacher on the Omega
Institute HSP faculty and has also taught at the Kripalu Center
in Lenox, MA, as well as assistant teaching at Rowe Conference
Center. In 2006 through 2016 Rich has returned to Omega as a Core
Faculty Tai Chi Instructor as well as leading Sound Healing, Shamanism
and Transformational Sound and Energy Workshops as Staff Faculty.
In 2008 and 2009 he presented the "Immersions In The Stream
Of Cosmic Sound" workshop at Omega as an extended course
meeting twice weekly for four weeks totaling 24 hours of class
time. In 2010 through 2015 he presented "Shamanic Sound
Practices Immersion" and "Three Pathways of Illumination"
in the same format.
